About me ...

New era in my life

Hi, I'm Sandra and I recently started a whole new chapter in my personal life.

I have a son and a daughter who are my most precious gifts in this world.

In my life, i've already been through a lot. But by chance (and by an amusing anecdote), I have discovered that I can process my emotions and feelings better and give them a place by creating paintings.

I follow my intuition. I create what I want but most of all what I need at that moment, whatever makes me feel good. Sometimes I have to step out of my comfort zone because the paint also wants to go its own way. I must let it go then and accept. This is a good mental lesson and exercise for me.

Layers - Boundaries - Authenticity

Accept and Let Go

After a few paintings, I noticed that they all consisted layers or showed some form of boundaries or uncontrollability. This was a revelation to me ... suddenly it all made sense!

Unconsciously I created what was inside me, without realizing it. Just by following and trusting my intuition, feelings and emotions something came out ... my authentic self, the person I really am and what was going on within myself!

Layers ... I strongly believe that everyone has layers. When you - dare to - open up yourself, you are able to see and feel another (maybe more vulnarable) layer. It allows you to turn inward and feel ... deeply and profoundly.
- Don't cover up those beautiful layers! -

Boundaries ... something I've been told many times that I don't have or don't use when needed. This is and remains an area of improvement for me,  towards others and for myself, both mentally and physically.
I'm a chronic pain patient, HSP and have PTSS.
So I have to take this into account in my daily life.

- Set boundaries and stick to them! -
Authenticity ... So, no shame, guilt, hiding, covering up or disguising things (anymore)! Just accepting things and trying to find my authentic self again. After feeling lost and not knowing who I was or what I wanted anymore ... I'm beginning to discover my authenticity now, and it feels good!
- Be your authentic self! -
Accept and Let Go ... Something I had to learn the hard way. One of my favorite quotes that I often use for myself is:
If you can change it, do it.
If you can't change it, accept it.
- Accept what you cannot change! -

Interesting Fact:

"Art is a journey, not a destination"

Unlike many, I DO NOT WANT to have "one style". I am always growing, evolving, learning, changing, ... I embrace the freedom to explore, experiment and grow in my art too. For me, sticking to one style feels limiting and unnaturally - I create with my heart, and that means letting my art evolve with me. Excitement, creativity, curiosity and passion drive me to keep things fresh and uniquely mine.
